Garden of Eden - located!

Has the Garden of Eden been located? New scientific research, coupled with coordinates laid out in the Bible itself, mean it may indeed be possible to determine the garden's location on a modern map. This shouldn't be all that surprising of a development. Archeology consistently validates the historicity of  Biblical geography. Even non-believing archeologists recognize that the Bible describes real places.  (For lots more on this, here's a great article by my favorite author Paul L. Maier)

But what about the Garden of Eden? Most Christians believe it was a real place, but unlike Jerusalem or Rome, its ancient location is not obvious. Yet the Bible does offer a surprisingly detailed description of the Garden of Eden's location. The problem has always been that that researchers could not find two of the rivers mentioned in the Biblical description. Modern hydrological sciences have recently solved that problem, giving scientists all the data necessary to triangluate the Garden of Eden.

But the data didn't add up. Until recently, that is—when Phd hydrologist Ward Sanford offered an elegant solution. You can read his full report here (scroll down for the details). But first, watch our video above to find out where the Garden of Eden likely was (or is).

  1. Aren't the only people who believe in an actual Garden of Eden Biblical literalists? And don't those people think the Earth is younger than the date of the last Ice Age?

  2. No, not really. While there are many "young earth" creationists, the majority of Christians believe the earth is indeed billions of years old. But that doesn't preclude a belief that the Garden of Eden was a real place. You can read a lot more about this at: http://www.reasons.org/human-origins/adam-and-eve

  3. I have an ex-roommate who was 'Young Earth' creationist.

  4. You can't actually find the garden of eden, you can only guess where it is. The bible says that and angel guards the way to the garden of eden. So that means you can't find it because and angel guards it.

    1. You can't and will not find the Garden of Eden because it has been destroyed by the Flood as per the days of Noah.

  5. in theory, they say that the angels guard the way to the forest. But there have always been folklore/bible proof that only chosen ones can see or even get to what is there. I'm just stating that it is what have been duplicated the most

  6. The Bible is not folklore it's history, you can watch some biblical archeology vids on youtube. :)
Creationism on the other hand, actualy has some pretty good points putting together everything in perfect order- underground oil and gas, strata, ice age, dinosaurs (read on modern day dinosaurs), supraorbital ridges and DNA which evolution can't. I'm a student of dental medicine former FIRM believer in evolution but I was honest enough to do some research without denying the facts stated at me and there are some pretty amazing things. If you take the Biblical record every "mystery" to science as to how the Earth was created fails to be mysterious any longer. And think about it: I have a 132 IQ and am a skeptic. For me to KEEP(!) believing it's either I'm deluded enough or it's true from a psychological perspective atleast. I've done alot of research. Evolution struggles! God bless you.

    1. Luckily you're not going to be a real doctor, so it doesn't really matter whether or not you believe in evolution. Good luck understanding the behavior of the microbial flora of the human mouth without it, but I'm sure you'll do fine just memorizing it.

  7. To Reginald: It's interesting how you choose to lower yourself by belittling Mr. Unknown, one who was brave enough to study the facts on his own. If you study the facts of evolution you'll see that evolution still has not been able to explain how life came from non-life, let alone the fact that Darwin's Theory of Natural Selection has not provided the appropriate amount of evidence to prove evolution. Still to this day no "real" intermediate species in the fossil record have been found. "Real" meaning not fabricated, Archaeopteryx is perfect example of scientist gone "mad", many scientist believe it was fabricated and sold to make a name for himself. Darwin believed that there would be thousands of intermediate species, so far the fossil record has failed in that arena completely. So now evolutionist are reaching out to the stars for their answers, have you ever wondered why there are so many alien movies? Because the atheist want us all to believe we are from outer space, which still doesn't explain how life in the universe get starter, it just sends the problem to another planet. What's next? Life in this world came from another dimension? That's right, it's called heaven!!!

  8. brother,
how can we really believe that its is the garden of Eden as the lord protected with his angels??

  9. yes, we can believe it. but it is no longer protected by the Lord God Almighty. One never learns what happened to the serpent who tempted Eve. Look at this country. It was inhabited by the native americans who although they believe in their Creator, they do not worship Him. He just is. However, nationwide their is evidence of a serpent diety that they pay homage to. Look at the serpent mounds. study their folklore, myths. And as much as one believes in God the almighty, one should not disbelieve in Satan and his demons. where there is one there is the other and the fight for our souls goes on. I for one will stand up for God. And I am a Native American.

  10. Let's Just be real with ourselves people. The scripture says: Genesis 2:10 A river went out of Eden to water the garden; from there it was separated into four heads. 11 The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 (The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin[a] and onyx are also there.) 13 The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush.[b] 14 The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Ashur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates. Now let us break this down. The first river named is of the most important. This river is Pishon the one going out of Eden. The Pishon is the Nile river today. If you follow the Nile river into Africa you would find the Garden Of Eden. Nothing is lost for you to find. People are waking up to deception practices. Don't create things out of thin air and say that you've found something. I just gave you a short version. I can prove everything I'm saying. "No dried up river beds"!

  11. Gentlemen. I suggest you watch a documentary by Archaeologist David Rohl called "In Search of Eden". If that doesn't convince you that Eden did/does exist and that he did indeed find it then nothing will and no it is not under the Persian Gulf.

  12. You guys are all talking about the 2nd garden, with the 4 rivers. A little confusion. The first garden with the tree of life was on an isthmus sticking out of the Eastern Mediterranean where Syria is today, near Latakia. The isthmus sank, but is quite evident with the recent underwater topography that is available. Here's the skinny:

  13. The circular design is interesting, but can such a symmetrical shape be possible if we add a 52nd, 53rd, etc.? The middle design is ugly, so I'll stick with the one on the left.
