What if every state was the same size...

...population-wise that is. The reason to do this would be to take away the influence of the Electoral College--which gives extra power to small states. (Not to be confused with the Electrical College, where students learn strategies for plugging 3-prong appliances into 2-prong outlets). A map like the one above would create evenly-sized states so we wouldn't have any more elections where the popular-vote winner fails to become president. But as a small-state resident, I think the Electoral College is terrific. Without it, California would suck up all Idaho's water... and North Dakota would become one big nuclear waste dump. "Power to the Puny!" (To see all of Neil Freeman's Electoral College reform map, go here.)
